Preview of Curtain Call Kids' 'The Little Mermaid, Jr.'

Fifty young actors will perform at the Nancy Marine Studio Theater in Torrington.

Curtain Call Kids in Middlebury will present The Little Mermaid Jr. at the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre, the second stage at the Warner Theatre, on August 23 and 24. Curtain Call Kids is a children's community theater group serving western Connecticut.
Richard McKenna directs the cast of 50 young actors and I am not surprised to hear that this gifted community theater actor is wonderful with them. Some talented students that have appeared on local community theater stages are involved in this production.
Rising fifth grader Kennedy Morris, who recently played Annie at Blessed Sacrament School as well as Young Fiona in the fabulous production of Shrek at the Warner, will play the role of the yellow and blue sidekick Flounder. Lauren Stango, who is a talented daughter of Chuck Stango and was so good as Peter Pan in Shrek, will be the feisty seagull Scuttle.
Veronica Johnson, who played the teen Fiona in Shrek, will play the lead role of Ariel. It was a family affair when this young lady appeared in Shrek with her brothers Theron (ensemble) and Christian (tech) and her mom Mary Johnson (One Night with Fanny Brice by Chip Deffaa at the 13th Street Rep Company in NYC.) Thanks to Mrs. Johnson for passing along the information in this post.
Tickets for this show should be available at the Warner box office soon.
