Palace adds performances to ‘Tupperware' Sale

PALACE THROWS ‘TUPPERWARE’ SALE
Theater Offers $20 Tickets To Opening Performances of “Dixie’s Tupperware Party”

WATERBURY – The Palace Theater in Waterbury is throwing a “Tupperware Sale” on tickets to the opening night performances of the interactive, Off-Broadway stage show Dixie's Tupperware Party. For a limited time only, today through January 14, regularly priced $40 tickets to the 7:30pm Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday night performances of the show (January 15 – 17) will be available for $20. Tickets can be purchased by phone at 203-346-2000, online at www.palacetheaterct.org, or in person at the Box Office, 100 East Main Street in Waterbury.

Nominated for a prestigious 2008 Drama Desk Award, Dixie's Tupperware Party stars sassy Southerner Dixie Longate, a fast-talking Tupperware Lady who packed up her catalogues and left her three children in an Alabama trailer park to journey across the country and sell her fantastic plastic products. Critics and audiences have howled with laughter as Dixie throws a good ol' fashioned Tupperware Party filled with outrageously funny tales, heartfelt accounts, free  giveaways, audience participation and the most fabulous assortment of Tupperware ever sold on a theater stage.  Loaded with the most up-to-date products available for purchase, Ms. Longate will share how she became the number one Tupperware seller in the world, as she educates her guests on the many “alternative” uses she has discovered for her plastic products.

Dixie's Tupperware Party will be at the Palace Theater for six performances, January 15-20, and will feature a different local media personality almost every night to serve as the evening’s host and dish it up ‘Dixie’ style with members of the audience. The Advocate Newspapers are scheduled to host the opening night performance on January 15, followed by WDRC-AM Talk of Connecticut Host Mary Jones on January 16, WATR 1320AM Morning Personality Tom Chute on January 17, and “Better Connecticut” Host Scot Haney on January 18.

As a special promotion, ticket holders to each of the Palace’s six performances will enjoy a bit of Dixie’s “southern hospitality” and receive a complimentary cocktail loaded with something sweet-and-sassy to ward off the January chill.
