Thank You to All Who Came Out for Oxford PTO's "Family Night at the Auction"

Thank you to all who attended Oxford PTO's "Family Night at the Auction"

On Friday, May 18th, the Oxford PTO held its first "Family Night at the Auction." The event was a huge success, not just in a monetary value, but by the turnout and excitement in the air. When children won a bid, the excitement on their faces was incredible.

I'd like to give a very big thank you from myself and the Oxford PTO to everyone who helped out. We had many volunteers;  Sharon Shaw, Tricia and Joe Hines, April Klicsu, Tom Riddle, Ann Gamauf, Jennifer Kozek, Lisa Bawlick and the Oxford Youth Football Organization, many bakers who dropped off baked goods, and several others who stepped in to help where needed. We had great auctioneers in Dave and Debbie Kelly, and Danny Magic, who kept approximately 50-plus kids entertained. All of you had a big hand in this event, and we hope to see you again next year.

We had many business that donated items and a few last minute items that did not make it into our program. We'd like to thank:

  • Radley Manzo
  • The Oxford Resident Trooper's Office - Sgt. Daniel Semosky
  • Burns & Company, LLC - Mary Ellen Macedonia
  • Flavor Catering - Jamie Curtis
  • Outdoor Movies and Gaming(OMG) -Keith Corcoran
  • Tidmarsh's Bakery / Ansonia

On a final note, this event would not have been possible without the help, commitment and dedication was over the last four months by these wonderful ladies: Kim Swanat, Jenn Manzo, Carmen Riddle, Jenn Brown, Jodi Fletter, Kellyanne Barberio  and Therese Kennett. Thank you for making this happen and making it a great, fun event for everyone!

It was a wonderful, fun night for our families! You ladies really did an OUTSTANDING job. It was well-organized, well-planned and extremely well-run evening and you should be incredibly proud of yourselves. You truly brought our community together for a great event. Thank you for all you did and continue to do!

Just a heads up: It was 50-plus kids who attended, not 500. I originally introduced that error when editing Lisa's blog. My apologies. Thank you to Lisa for posting this and to all of the volunteers who put on this great community event.

I love the photo of the Canadian Geese and babies and how the babies are walkingi in between the two adults. They also swim with all the babies guarded on each side by the mother and father.
