Saturday, June 9 is Connecticut Open House Day.

Connecticut Open House Day is an opportunity to visit museums with free or reduced admission or with some extras. Check out some local Open House Day events in our neck of the woods.

DerbyOsborne Homestead Museum - From 10 a.m. until 4 p.m., enjoy free tours of the Homestead, along with an outdoor history walk.

MiddleburyQuassy Amusement Park - One free all-day ride pass for the first 12 cars that request it through the Connecticut Open House Day.

NaugatuckNaugatuck Historical Society Museum - Free admission from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Offering special activities and programs.

New MilfordPratt Nature Center - From 10 a.m. until noon, visitors get to meet the animals.

ThomastonRailroad Museum of New England - Receive a $1 discount off regular priced tickets on a scenic train ride. Plus receive an 8-pack of RMNE postcards per family. Departs 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

WaterburyMattatuck Museum Art & History Center - From 10 a.m. until noon, visitors are welcome to draw the spires, sculptures and scenes in the historic Green. A roaming artist will offer helpful drawing tops. Supplies and stools will be provided. From 1 p.m. until 3 p.m., take inspiration from the Alexander Calder sculpture and create your own sculpture in the Museum’s courtyard. Hang your work under the arbor or take it home. Programs will be held indoors if the weather is inclement.

WaterburySeven Angels Theatre - The first 75 people will receive a complimentary ticket to the June 9th, 2 p.m. performance of Teddy & Alice. Tickets only available from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. for this offer.

WaterburyTimexpo: The Timex Museum - Free admission from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

WaterburyPalace Theater - Tour the theater, watch people putting together the new Waterbury mosaic for downtown, and pay a reduced rate for e-pass that allow early ticket purchases and offers seats in reserved sections.

WatertownSouthwind Farms - Free admission to one of Connecticut’s largest alpaca farms from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

WatertownWatertown Historical Society Museum- Free admission from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Exhibit by local artist with hand painted historical scenes of various places throughout the town
