Liver Transplant Recipient Now Needs a Kidney, Too

Can you help this Connecticut teenager?

This article was written by Aaron Leo and posted by Jaimie Cura.

Kyleigh Leos bounced back from a liver disease thanks to a liver donation from Trumbull Police Officer Michael Gonzalez in 2010, but now she's ill again.

Leos, whose father is Trumbull Officer Jay Leos, needs a kidney and a liver, according to a friend, Dave Giannini. The teen was born with a liver disease that interferes with bile-carrying tubes.
"She is 18 years old and in Yale Children's Hospital Intensive Care Unit in desperate need of a liver and kidney transplant. She is literally knocking on death's door and thank God - He hasn't answered," Giannini said in a Facebook Post.

"I implore all of my friends to forward this to all of their friends. I implore all of their friends to forward it to their friends," he added.

He said although Leos is seriously ill, she is still smiling. "A spirit like that CAN NOT be allowed to be extinguished," Giannini said.

She is in Yale-New Haven Hospital. To see if you are compatible to be a donor, call Yale-New Haven Health Services Liver Donor Services at 203-688-9426.
