Horse Needs Help After Botched Surgery

A botched throat surgery is causing conflict for Duke the horse. HORSE of CT has been unable to find a vet or surgeon that can help. Do you know anyone who can?

Duke the horse is having difficulty eating after a botched laser surgery on his throat.

"A flap was removed from his esophagus," Bill Goessinger wrote on this HORSE of CT announcement on Patch. "He needs the flap to direct this food and water down his throat and into his stomach. Currently some food makes it down and some comes out his nose."

Goessinger said HORSE of CT hasn't been able to find a vet or surgeon and are now reaching out to the community.

"If you have any suggestions, please email us at horsectinfo@gmail.com," he wrote.

HORSE of CT is a nonprofit dedicated to the rescue and rehabilitation of abused and neglected horses, according to the HORSE of CT website.
