Community Corner

Prayer Walk for Sandy Hook and our schools

Please note: Due to the very cold weather conditions anticipated for this Saturday, this event has been modified. There will now be a prayer service in the First Church sanctuary at 9, followed by the ringing of the church bells at 9.30. Refreshments and a short time of fellowship will be offered at that time and, afterwards, those who are interested can walk to the schools with Rev. Lyn for a brief time of further prayer.

The Rev. Lyn Barrett of the First Congregational
Church of Woodbury will lead a Prayer Walk on Saturday, December 14th,
the anniversary of the Sandy Hook tragedy. The walk will begin at 9 am at the
church at 214 Main Street South, Woodbury; from there participants will walk to
Mitchell Elementary School and the Woodbury Middle School before returning to
the church for some light refreshment. We will remember the Sandy Hook victims,
their families and the Newtown Community in prayer. We will also offer prayers
for the children and staff of Region 14 as well as children and
educators everywhere. All members of the community are invited.
