George Hale and Deborah Fuller to be Honored at March 2nd Open House

Greater Woodbury residents are invited to an Open House to be held Sunday, March 2nd, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m., at the Woodbury Senior/Community Center to honor former Woodbury Selectman George Hale and former Woodbury Board of Finance member and Vice Chair Deborah Fuller.  The event is hosted by the Woodbury Democratic Town Committee.  Open House attendees are encouraged to bring dry and/or canned food items, which will be donated to the Woodbury Community Services Food Bank.  There will be no admission charge.

A summary of George Hale and Deborah Fuller's service to the Town of Woodbury includes:

George Hale - Mr. Hale served on the Woodbury Board of Selectmen (2007 - 2013).  Additionally, he was active on the Woodbury Planning Commission (2002 -2007), Woodbury Board of Assessment Appeals (2000 - 2002), as well as being a Woodbury Park & Recreation Coach for 10 years.  George Hale also created and led Woodbury's first Economic and Development Committee, was a key mover in the creation of the Connecticut Antiques Trail and engaged in several projects, such as the completion of the Woodbury Senior/Community Center, renovations for the Historic Town Hall and renovations at the Park & Recreation House.

Deborah Fuller - Ms. Fuller served as Woodbury Board of Finance member and vice chair (1999 - 2013), Woodbury Town Retirement and Pension Board member (2001 - present), Charter Revision Commission member (2000 - 2001) and Woodbury Initial Open Space Strategy and Implementation Committee member.  Also, Deborah Fuller has been an active senior housing advocate, serving as President of the Spruce Bank Farm Interfaith Elderly Housing Corporation Board of Directors.
