Flanders offers Emerald Ash Borer Beetle Program

The
Emerald Ash Borer is an exotic beetle which was discovered in Michigan in 2002.
They have since spread and have now reached Connecticut bringing with them a
very negative impact on the ash trees in our state. The larvae of the Emerald
Ash Borer Beetle feeds on the inner bark of ash trees disrupting its ability to
transport water and nutrients ultimately destroying the trees. Local forester
Bud Neal has been working on this issue for years and will give a talk on what
the arrival of the Emerald Ash Borer Beetle to Connecticut means and what can
be done about it.
