The Community Health Information (CHI) center is all about information on health, wellness and medical issues. Funded by New Milford Hospital, this partnership with the library provides the community with the valuable resource of CURRENT and ACCURATE information on health, wellness and medical information. The physical space offers popular and reference books on health and wellness while the Ebsco Consumer Health Complete database offers timely and accurate information on medical conditions/issues. The database resides on the library’s computers and is accessible remotely using your Woodbury Public Library card #.

Sourced from medical journals, research, medical reference books and media that is vetted by Ebsco (company widely used by libraries and hospitals for database content), the user is guaranteed reliable information. So instead of relying on cyberspace, the Community Health Information center and Consumer Health Complete offers library patrons and card holders a resource so that they – in consultation with their physician – can be their own health advocate in disease prevention, effective communication and sound decision making.
