High Cholesterol, Blood Pressure or Type II Diabetes – Learn how to effectively manage these diseases

Although genetics can play a part in these diseases, most can be effectively managed through what you eat.  In this seminar we will discuss specifically which foods you should avoid and which foods you should increase to manage these diseases.  We will also talk about how to eat without feeling deprived.  You will learn about micro vs macro nutrients and the restorative properties of micro nutrients.  It will all be done in plain English by a coach who learned how to get her husband off his high cholesterol medication and has helped countless others either reduce or totally get off of their chronic medications for cholesterol, high blood pressure, gout, arthritis, IBS and Type II Diabetes.

Why do diets work every time, but then I gain it back? – Learn how to stop yo-yo dieting

I like to tell people that Atkins, SouthBeach, Weight Watchers, etc. always worked for me.  But clearly not for the long term, because I was always going back on them, hence my cycle of yo-yo dieting.  We will discuss why these types of plans are not sustainable and how you can eat for life.  You can train your metabolism to eat more and weigh less.  Michelle will talk about the science, in lay terms, of how to eat, not feel deprived and get to and stay at your goal weight.

Stress contributes to weight gain

Cortisol flowing through your body is a good thing when being chased by a bear, but far too many people suffer from chronic stress.  When cortisol is constantly flowing through the body, it negatively impacts your metabolism and can even put you in a weight gaining mode.  Michelle will discuss the science behind stress and then go over pragmatic ways for you to reduce the impact of stress around you.

Ms. Morgan would like attendees to carefully select one or two strategies that they can embrace and make their own as these tactics are practical and can be immediately implemented into your life.  Ms. Morgan is one of the owners of Revèe Spa, which performs non-invasive cosmetic procedures and is located at 33 Bullet Hill Road, Suite 204 in Southbury.  Admission is a non-perishable food item for the Woodbury Food Bank.  Please call the Woodbury Public Library at 203.263.3502 to reserve a spot, as seating is limited.  The library is located at 269 Main Street South in Woodbury.

Today's drug prohibition is getting violent criminals off the street - how many are in prison rightRead More now? Abuse of crack cocaine, heroin and the like have been proven to alter the brain chemistry, changing the user's personality, and frequently making them violent when they otherwise would not hurt a fly. These drugs are also used to benefit people who need them as prescribed by doctors. Tobacco has no such benefits. And skydiving? What does that have to do with tobacco? Does the skydiver harm other's health a month or more after he/she's been on the ground? No. Tobacco smoke does. It's called third hand smoke. Value? How can you compare art and entertainment with smoking? Anybody can attend an art gallery and not adversely affect anybody else. Any normal person can watch TV or play video games without committing suicide or harming anybody. Smoking hurts everybody and helps no one every time a smoker lights up. Drugs and alcohol, when used in moderation or under the direction of a doctor, can be helpful. Tobacco can not make the same claim.
