Community Corner
Dinner and a Movie! New Morning Market, Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust
New Morning Market and Flanders Nature Center & Land Trust invite you for a community viewing of the film, More than Honey and a freshly prepared dinner that celebrates the importance of honey bees in our environment! Did you know that over the past 15 years, millions of bee colonies have been decimated throughout the world, but the causes of this disaster remain unknown. Bees pollinate 2/3 of our food source and if this decline continues it will affect our diet.
The evening concludes with a Q & A session with our panel of experts including Al Avitabile, beekeeper, Emeritus Professor at the Biology Dept. of UCONN, co-author of “The Beekeeper’s Handbook”, Susan Cusato PH.D,Beekeeper, Associate Professor and Chairman Science Education and Environmental Studies SCSU and Kevin Barry, Beekeeper and Instructor Flanders Bee-ginning Bee School. Lisa Turoczi of Earthtone Native Plant Nursery.
Get tickets today and you’ll learn how to be part of a community who cares about our pollinators! Tickets: $20.00
