Candlelight and Wine Art Talk by Bridget Grady and Reception to Unveil Recently Acquired Natalie Van Vleck Painting

Two events will be held on this evening -- an Art Talk by Bridget
Grady and a Reception to unveil a recently acquired Natalie Van Vleck
painting.  A wine and cheese reception
will begin at 6 PM as guests celebrate and have a chance to view the recently
purchased “Abstract Mountain Landscape,” a stunning 24”x28” oil by Natalie Van
Vleck, which will be an important addition to Flanders’ collection of its
founder’s artwork.
Following the reception at 7 PM will be an Art Talk by Bridget Grady, Director of Blue Horse Art Studio and Gallery in
Watertown. In her slide presentation, Ms. Grady will discuss her experience
creating and curating community-based art projects that focus on issues in the
environment.
Ms. Grady and her husband Jay Foster, collaborated with Flanders
Education Director Dianne Parmelee to create an international multi-platform event
entitled Plight of the Pollinators. The aim of the show, which featured
an international group of artists, was to raise awareness of the vital
importance of pollinators in maintaining the health of our food and
eco-systems.
Ms. Grady spent several years as an Assistant Professor of Art at Nanyang Technological University, School of Art, Design, and Media located in Singapore. Ms. Grady's work was recently part of a wonderful 3-person show at Washington Art Association in March, and she will be showing at the Slater Museum in the spring in the Animals in Art Exhibition.
