Woodbury’s Trick or Trunk A Success

Jenifer Miller of Woodbury Parks and Rec expressed her gratitude for those who helped with Trick or Trunk and shared who won prizes for their decorations and costumes.

Wow! What a terrific night we had on Halloween night at Hollow Park!  We had 80 cars open their trunks, some decorated, some just handing out candy!  We had a record number of “Trick or Treaters” attend in amazing costumes, both young and old!  A dance party happening in the decorated pavilion with music and lights—it was a great way to work off some of that candy and dance the night away!

There are so many people to thank for making this event such a huge success.   Firstly, Lori Kucky who headed up this initiative, and was instrumental in getting the whole concept off the ground and coordinated. It was her enthusiasm that drove the team to make the event happen!

Lisa Howe and Danielle Westervelt who did a tremendous job decorating the pavilion and the park, plus having a decorated car as well!  The Juniorettes were great helpers on the decorating front, keeping the dance party going, and for the amazing clean up job they did!  Thank you.

A huge thank you has to be extended to the CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) team. They had offered to help before they knew Storm Sandy would have called them into duty for the prior three days, but yet they still came out, in force, and provided the much needed parking, traffic control and safety station support that we needed for our event.

These volunteers were pivotal to the success of the evening, I was amazed at their expertise and good spirits during the entire event, when they must have already been tired from a busy few days, I am extremely grateful to them for their help to make Trick or Trunk a success!!
