The Woodbury Lions Club's annual Appreciation Picnic took place on August 21 at and the menu was so good that people kept on asking Lion Frank Longo where all the food came from.
So much so that Longo posted the following note on the Woodbury-Middlebury Patch Facebook page:
"Everyone raved about the steaks, and everything that went with them," he said. "For the record, the sweet corn came from The Farm, Woodbury CT. You can get it, along with other fresh produce at on Hollow Road in Woodbury. The three salads, green, macaroni and potato, came from . The sheet cake came from Big Y. Since everyone was asking, I just thought I'd post it."
The picnic is the way the Lions thank everyone who helps make their community efforts successful. Longo said the picnic was an astounding success.
"We had about 70 of our volunteers attend, along with about 40 club members," he said. "Special Kudos to Lions TJ, Kerry, Rolly and Tom for managing the grill duties!"
