Woodbury Joins Search and Rescue Training Program

The local CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) practiced missing person rescue techniques.

The Norwalk Hour’s Wilton Villager reported on the training exercise, which took place in Wilton and included numerous other towns’ Community Emergency Response Teams (CERT), including Woodbury’s. The teams practiced techniques for rescuing missing persons.

The article says the CERT program prepares individuals to help themselves and their neighbors during an emergency, crisis or disaster ranging from a major storm like last year’s Tropical Storm Irene to a serious automobile accident.
