The "L" Litter of Yellow Labrador Retriever Mix Puppies
Lucy, Love, Lassie, Lucky, Levi, Leo and Lance -- these seven adorable pups are what AFL staff call the 'L' Litter! They are 8-weeks-old and ready to be adopted now.
Ladybug, a Female Chihuahua/Shiba Inu Mix
Ladybug is 16-months-old, weighs about 16 pounds is looking for an active and loving family who is ready for hours of play and entertainment.
Ladybug was rescued from a horrible living situation where she was mistreated and abused. Because of this, she does take her time warming up to strangers. But once she makes a new human friend, she is friendly and at ease with that person.
Ladybug's ideal home would be with adults or older kids. She is currently living in a foster home with kitty friends and her favorite past-time is chasing them around in an attempt to herd them.
She doesn't try to hurt them -- just attempts to boss them around, but does back down when they've had enough. Her herding instinct is strong and her desire to play and chase is even stronger, so any companion animals who share a home with Ladybug need to be ready for this.
When playtime is over, she likes to cuddle up in the chair next to her foster family. She is incredibly smart, healthy and fully housebroken.
She responds to several commands already and sleeps peacefully without a peep through the night. Ladybug would love a fully fenced yard, otherwise leash walks are a must to keep her safe from running off to herd a squirrel, bird or whatever creature catches her eye.
She has come a long way in a short amount of time and AFL staff expect that with a patient owner, she will continue to thrive.
Those looking into adopting Ladybug may contact Ladybug's foster parent, Louann at 860-921-6476. She will be handling the adoption directly.
Mila, a Female Terrier Mix
Mila is a sweet girl who just arrived at the shelter. She is 6-8 months old and a mixed breed pup.
Minka, a Female Domestic Medium Hair Cat
Minka is a white and black female kitty who is approximately 7-months-old. Her fur is silky soft, like a mink. She was living outdoors and was being fed by a nice family who wanted to keep her, but unfortunately, Minka did not like their older male cat.
Because of this, AFL staff believe she do well as the only cat in her new home. Minka is not at all skittish. She adapted well to the shelter and is a confident and playful cat who adores people and can be heard purring loudly across the room.
She also loves to cuddle up with her stuffed animal friend.
