Snow in the Forecast for Late Tuesday & Early Wednesday

Hope you didn't get too used to the warmer temperatures. The National Weather Service forecast is calling for snow. Read on to see how much accumulation is expected.

Snow is in the forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday, Jan. 15 and 16. The National Weather Service is calling for a hazardous weather outlook for northern New Haven County, mainly in the form of snow with sleet and freezing rain mixed in, beginning late Tuesday or early Wednesday.

"While expected snow and ice amounts do not currently meet National Weather Service warning criteria... there is a chance that more significant snowfall could occur during this time," the NWS stated.

Middlebury's Forecast

  • Snow, mainly after 1 a.m. early Wednesday. Low around 31. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible
  • Wednesday: Snow, mainly before 1 p.m. High near 38. Light and variable wind. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Woodbury's Forecast

  • A slight chance of snow and sleet before 9 p.m. Tuesday, then snow likely. Cloudy, with a low around 28. Calm wind. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Wednesday: Snow likely before 2 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a high near 36. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
