The Superintendent reached his decision to close schools early on these two days after consulting with town leaders and local police.  Calling hours for two victims of the Sandy Hook School tragedy, who were members of our community, will be held during the afternoon hours on those days.  The district wants to ensure those wishing to pay their respects to these extraordinary women will be able to do so without concerns for traffic congestion or lack of parking. Both the Mitchell and middle school parking lots will be made available to the public.

Again, all Region 14 schools will dismiss early on Wednesday, December 19th and Thursday, December 20th.  Nonnewaug High School and Woodbury Middle School will dismiss students at 11:55 am.  Mitchell and Bethlehem Elementary School students will be dismissed at 12:55 pm. Education Connection after school care will be available for families who utilize that service.

Thank you.
