Report: Naugatuck Woman Killed in I-84 Crash

The accident on Friday evening involving a car and a tractor trailer has turned fatal.

A 62-year-old Naugatuck woman died at a local hospital after being injured in a car accident on Interstate 84 in Waterbury Friday, according to the Republican-American of Waterbury.

The incident occurred about 5 p.m. at the off-ramp of exit 17 at Chase Parkway in Waterbury when a tractor-trailer collided with the compact car. At the scene of the accident Friday, it appeared as if the driver's side door of the car was struck first, though that could not be confirmed. Middlebury firefighters were among emergency personnel who responded to the accident.
