Middlebury Offers Christmas and Hanukkah Events

The first weekend in December marks the start of the holiday season in Middlebury.

Breakfast With Santa

 Breakfast with Santa will take place from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at auditorium, 1172 Whittemore Rd.

The menu features pancakes, bacon and sausage.

Cost to attend is $6 for children six years of age and older, $5 for children three to five years of age or $20 for a household.

Children younger than two years of age may attend at no cost. The Middlebury Junior Women’s Club hosts the event.

 

St. George's Episcopal Church's Gingerbread Village

This is the 44th year hosted the gingerbread village and Christmas bazaar.

  • 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3
  • 11:30 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3: Luncheon
  • Noon to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4
  • 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4: Dessert
  • 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5 through Friday, Dec. 9
  • 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, December 10

 

Christmas Tree Lighting on The Green

The tree lighting ceremony and Christmas caroling on the Green will begin at 4 p.m. Saturday Dec. 3.

After the tree lighting takes place, families may visit with Santa at Shepardson Community Center, . Hot chocolate and refreshments will be served.

 

Christmas Pewter Ornament Sale

The town's annual pewter ornament is for sale in the Parks and Recreation Department in Shepardson, the town clerk’s office in the and . Cost is $7 per ornament.

 

Hanukkah Lighting Ceremony on the Green

The ceremony will take place at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, on the Middlebury Green. Blessings will be sung as the first night candle is lit.
