The Irish History Round Table will host its next meeting at 7:30 p.m. tonight -- Tuesday, April 17 -- at the Knights of St. Patrick Hall, 1533 State Street in New Haven.
This month's meeting's guest speaker will be Philip K. Devlin. Devlin will discuss and Irish history.
Two of the hundreds of tragic stories of the worst maritime disaster in history are about an Irishwoman and an Irishman who were coming to Connecticut, according to Devlin.
The author and historian recently worked on a series of articles that focused on the ship's tragic sinking, which were published on Woodbury-Middlebury Patch — as well as several other Patch sites throughout the state. The series of articles on the Titanic: 100 Years Later can be viewed on the topic page.
Tonight's event is free and open to the public.
