Gillette Castle State Park, located at 67 River Rd., East Haddam, was actor William Gillette’s 204-acre estate known as the Seventh Sister, the focal point of which was his 24-room house reminiscent of a medieval castle.  The State of Connecticut acquired the property in 1943 and established Gillette Castle as its 40th State Park.

This year for the first time, the castle features multiple model trains as a tribute to Mr. Gillette’s fondness for the railroads of his day.
