Bethlehem Teen Struck by Truck While Riding Moped

An accident involving a moped and a truck took place on Route 6 today. The teenager sustained injuries and was transported to a hospital.

 

Eric Marshall, 16, of 148 Weekeepeemee Rd., Bethlehem, was driving a moped eastbound in the right shoulder of Route 6, near Town Line Road, at approximately 6:35 this morning, September 7, according to a Woodbury police report.

William Caco, 29, of 51 Forest Lane, Southington, was eastbound on Route 6 in his 2002 Ford F350 Pickup.

Marshall attempted to make a left turn into the driveway of 1785 Main St. North and collided with Caco's car, police reported.

Marshall was treated for injuries at the scene and transported to Waterbury Hospital. He was not wearing a helmet, according to the police report.

The investigation by Woodbury Police and Troop L is ongoing.

The indicated the teen was driving a scooter, later determined to be a moped.
