First, a bit of good news: After being listed as "urgent" for months, Elvis is finally in a foster-to-adopt home.
Next up: From the small to the tall, this week's compilation of pets looking for homes features small puppies and one tall horse. The pets are from Animals for Life in Middlebury and HORSE of Connecticut.
Buffy, a Female Lhasa Apso
Buffy is a young female currently living in foster care. She was recently taken to the vet and is healthy, about 2-years-old and 8 1/2 lbs.
Buffy was updated with all her shots and will soon be on her way to a nice grooming session. She also needs to be spayed prior to her being adopted.
This girl is settling in nicely in her foster home. She is responsive, friendly, and loves attention. Buffy enjoys playing with her dog toys. She is gentle when taking treats and is fine staying in the crate all night. She is not a 'yapper' like some small dogs can be.
Her foster mom is working on housebreaking her, as well as teaching her some basic commands like 'sit,' which she doesn't yet appear to know. With a little TLC, Buffy is sure to be a wonderful pet to a lucky family.
Espirit, a 25-year-old, 16-hand Appendix Gelding
This ex-race horse is looking for an owner who has plenty of time to go trail riding, either English or Western. His rider must not weigh more than 150-lbs.
Espirit will go out on the trails with or without other horses. If given the option, he prefers to follow another horse his speed. Espirit is great around children but requires an intermediate rider.

Vicky's Litter of Border Collie Mixes
This litter of six was just welcomed into the world on February 11. All are healthy and living with their mom in the foster home where they were born, until they are old enough to be adopted. There are three girls and three boys in the litter, and they are all black and white just like their mom.
Vicky is a mixed breed dog and most likely has Border Collie in her lineage. The father to this litter is unknown.
Those interested in adopting a puppy may visit the Animals For Life shelter to fill out an application.
