5 Things You Need to Know: Thursday, Sept. 29

From community participation to coffee, here are five things you need to know.

1. What to Wear Weather-Wise

To help make the morning's "what do I wear" dance go smoothly, the National Weather Service calls for showers and a possible thunderstorm, mainly before 5 p.m., with a temperature of 74 degrees.

Some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch are possible.

2. Caffeine Fiends Take Note

A latte people might be espresso-ing their love for Joe today -- cup of joe, that is.

Thursday, Sept. 29 is National Coffee Day, and some businesses, like 7-11, are giving away free coffee from 7 to 11 a.m. Dunkin' Donuts is reportedly not giving away free coffee, but said something fun will be posted on the Facebook page on Thursday.

3. Municipal Meetings
