The New New: Traveling Alone But Not As the Lonely Traveler

Separated or Divorced & Traveling for the First Time ( with or without the kids!!!)

I am going to be alone for Christmas. What to do?

Lots of tours for adults are perfect for the newly single. You can choose to look for romance by joining a singles group or look for pleasant companionship on a group tour which will include couples. Traveling to European cities is always an option; the atmosphere is festive, the rates are usually less expensive at this time of year , the museum lines are relatively short and if you stay into January there are often sales. South America has an equally festive atmosphere during the holiday season with the bonus of hot weather. Skiing is easy to do solo and après ski is has always been a singles sport.

I am traveling alone for the first time with my children? I am used to help from my wife. What do I do?

Again, travel groups are a great solution. There will be other children to befriend your children as well as child centric activities . And there will be other adults for moral support. Don’t forget and don’t be disappointed…. your teenagers will sleep late and most likely won’t want to talk to you anyway.
