How do I handle my first Thanksgiving alone with my children (without their father)?

The first holiday is the hardest for you and the kids. And figuring out how to make the holiday meaningful and fun is even harder . Do you want to start a new way to celebrate the holiday specific to your new family structure? Is there a dish traditional to your family that your former husband always hated? Did your family make a prayer, sing a song or play a game that your husband didn’t want included.? Start a new tradition!

My wife has the kids. What do I do?

Holiday time without the kids can be very difficult, especially if you have no extended family in the area. The best solution is to "Make a Plan".  Whether you go away for the weekend, volunteer in a soup kitchen, attach yourself to another family’s celebration, or plan dinner and a movie with others in the same boat, be proactive in filling the time.
