Woodbury, Middlebury Unemployment Rates Drop in November

Unemployment rates are down in Woodbury and Middlebury compared to last year.

According to the latest figures released by the Connecticut Department of Labor, unemployment rates in both Woodbury and Middlebury are down slightly for 2013.

Woodbury's unemployment rate hit its lowest point in November at 5.2 percent, marking the 5th consecutive month the rate has fallen below 6 percent.

February saw the highest rates for Woodbury with 6.8 percent.

November also marked the best month for Middlebury, with a yearly low of 5.6 percent. Though December of 2012 saw a slightly lower rate of 5.3 percent, rates for Middlebury are down overall.

July saw the highest rates for Middlebury with 6.8 percent.

State, National Unemployment Rate

In Connecticut, the pool of jobless people last month sat at 6.9 percent overall. Nationally, the United State's unemployment rate is 6.6 percent.
