Unemployment numbers for June show Middlebury with the town seeing the highest unemployment rate all year. Woodbury has the highest since January.

Middlebury’s rate jumped from 6.6. percent in May to 7.3 percent in June, according to the Connecticut Department of Labor. Woodbury’s unemployment rose from 6.3 percent in May to 6.4 percent in June.

Middlebury reports 299 unemployed people. Woodbury reports 376 unemployed people. The full listing of unemployment rates by town is attached to this article as a PDF.

Statewide, the unemployment rate is 8.1 percent and the national rate is 8.2 percent.
