Boston Pot & Tile: Bringing Local, Artistic Flair to Installations

Woodbury business owner Linda Boston shares her story.

Business: Boston Pot and Tile
Contact: 203-263-4640
Owners: Linda Boston
Address: 114 Joshua Hill Road, Woodbury

Why choose that location? Why start a business in this town?
Only 1 mile from Main Street and enough privacy to work through the night, my studio is in a community that supports the arts.

What do you do?
Custom art tile for site-specific installations including fireplaces, backsplashes, commemorative pieces and permanent murals.

What are you most proud of about your business?
Having been an art director for advertising, marketing and publishing for decades, I feel very comfortable interpreting the concepts of others, and like plenty of collaboration.

What's something people would find surprising about your business or profession?
How personal an installation can be. How local the theme can be.

How are you involved in the community?
I have done a commission for the Alliance Francaise of NW CT to commemorate the Washington/Rochambeau trail. A commemorative tile was sculpted for a theater group's 90th anniversary, and about 175 were sold to support the theater.
