Celebrate American Craft Beer Week With Bikes & Brews

The CT Beer Trail and the bicycle pros from Pedal Power are teaming up with the Thomas Hooker Brewing Company to help you celebrate American Craft Beer Week.

Many of the state's craft beer enthusiasts will celebrate American Craft Beer Week on two wheels at the Thomas Hooker Brewing Company on Sunday, May 20.

Bikes & Beers is a collaborative effort between the CT Beer Trail and the bike experts from the Pedal Power bicycle shops in Middletown and Vernon.  The concept started in 2011 with a series of organized bike rides developed with the goal of promoting local craft beer and recreational cycling throughout the state.

Each ride lead participants to a local craft beer related destination where they will enjoy a variety of well earned food and beer after a fun and invigorating ride along the state's roadways and bike trails.

Last year's rides ended at brew pubs and craft beer bars, but this year's initial event marks the first ride tied directly to a craft brewery.

The ride will start and finish at Thomas Hooker Brewing Company's Bloomfield facility, where cyclists will mingle in the recently renovated visitor center and tasting room while they enjoy local cuisine and a variety of craft beer produced on site. Those with an interest in brewing will be invited to take a guided tour of the facility.

Riders will meet at the Thomas Hooker Brewing Company.  The ride will start at 12:30 p.m. sharp and the first riders should begin returning to brewery starting around 2 p.m.
