Two young local men died in a horrific car fire in Woodbury late Tuesday.
Nicholas Aleia, 19, of 126 Auncient Oak Road in Bethlehem, and David James Metcalf, 21, of 223 Weekeepeemee Road, Woodbury, died after a one-vehicle accident on Route 317 (Good Hill Road), near Westside Road, according to a state police news release.
State police were called to the scene of the accident about 10:32 p.m. Tuesday, June 4, for a report of a one-vehicle crash and car fire. Woodbury police, fire and EMS also responded to the scene.
Aleia was driving the car, a 2003 Volkswagon Jetta, and Metcalf was the front seat passenger, police said.
The investigation is ongoing. Police are asking anyone who witnessed the accident or who has information to call Trooper Slaiby at 860-626-7900, ext. 5029.
