Sensory Friendly Film in Danbury This Week

The lights are turned up and the sound is turned down for this sensory friendly film screening of Monsters U at AMC in Danbury on Saturday, Aug. 24. Read on for the rest of the 2013 schedule.

AMC Danbury 16 is offering a sensory friendly film screening of Monsters U at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.


"The auditoriums dedicated to the program have their lights up, the sound turned down and audience members are invited to get up and dance, walk, shout or sing," said Brian Fostervold on Patch.

The program began when a parent of an autistic child asked for a special screening at AMC Columbia Mall 14 in Columbia, M.D., according to the AMC website.

Tickets are $6.50 for children and adults. Children younger than two years of age may attend for free.
