Middlebury Artist Donates Painting to help Foal in need

New England Artist, ShawnaLee W. Kwashnak, is donating an oil painting to be auctioned for Kai, a foal in need of life altering cataract surgery through the CT Draft Horse Rescue.  The auction is online until 7/26; Visit FB: CTDRAFTHORSERESCUE & look up the album "Silent Auction & Sales for Kai's Catarct Surgery"

The painting being donated is an 12x9" framed Oil Painting on stretched canvas of "Colby" a 1/2 Belgian & 1/2 Thoroughbred Draft horse feeling the breeze on his face after competing in the LHA Hunter Pace at Pound Ridge Reservation in MY during the 1990's. Hand painted in the timeless way by New England Artist, ShawnaLee. visit: www.shawnalee.com or FB: Portraits by ShawnaLee

Check out several new silent auction items added. Auction ends 7/26. All proceeds to help with medical expenses for Kai. Kai is a candidate for cataract surgery. More than just to give him sight- but to give him a better chance at a pain-free life. Kai already has some evidence of inflammation in his eyes as his immune system reacts to the lens proteins. This will most likely cause chronic uveitis (eye inflammation) for the rest of his life which may lead to glaucoma, atrophy of the eye, and/or the eventual need to remove one or both eyes. By removing the lenses, he's got a 50/50 shot at avoiding these issues. It needs to be done ASAP- can you help us raise the $4000 within 2 weeks?
