Zombie Gets Vocal via Social on Woodbury Skate Park

The famous rocker and part-time Woodbury resident Rob Zombie took to Facebook and Twitter to share his thoughts on the skate park and noise.

Rob Zombie took to his Facebook and Twitter page on Thursday, August 1, to address the Woodbury skate park and noise complaints made by his wife, Sheri Moon Zombie, at a June 2013 town budget meeting.

"It seems nuts to even have to address this but I guess I will," Zombie said on his Facebook page. "Some really crazy articles have popped up making claims about 'hating skaters' and 'hating children.' None of this is true and it makes me sick that someone would print such lies."

While Zombie did not specifically name the author or website of any articles, CTBoom.com shared a post on July 31 that uses similar language.

'A Solution That Will Make Everyone Happy'

"There is a simple matter going on in which we are trying to find a solution that will make EVERYBODY happy," Zombie continued on his Facebook status. "Unfortunately someone decided to turn it into a whole ugly event. What a bummer."

Readers shared their thoughts socially as well. On the Woodbury-Middlebury Patch Facebook page, comments were at times supportive to the skateboarders, and at times supportive of the Zombies.

"Perhaps the Zombies can put up a sound-barrier wall like they have along 84. on their OWN dime of course," Jennifer Bruce Montalto said.

Tammy Metzker said there are other residents who are unhappy with the noise level besides the Zombies.

"If it [sic] you lived around the park an [sic] had to hear the noises would you want to pay for it your self [sic]?" she said.

Brent Novak commented on the Stratford Patch Facebook page with an idea.

"Zombie has or maybe had a lot of skaters as fans," he said. "I understand moving to CT for peace and quiet. Zombie can kill two birds here. If he put on a show here in CT and rise [sic] money to build a better skatepark. One not so near his or anyone [sic] house. One he would get his peace, two he might be able to save grace with some of the people that buy his music."

'No Hate Here'

On Zombie's Twitter page, he also addressed the skate park issue: "For everyone commenting on this insane article about the skate park. Please do not believe the crazy things being said. No hate here guys."
