Denis Leary Catches Bobcat Roaming in Roxbury

Well, he didn't actually catch it, but he did manage to score a pic.

It's a bobcat, Denis Leary says, but not Bobcat Goldthwait, that actor with a high-pitched voice — you know, the wacky one from Police Academy.

Leary, a producer and star in the FX series "Rescue Me," lives part-time in an historic farmhouse on a sprawling property in Roxbury, Conn. The photo of a bobcat walking through a field was posted to his Facebook page Thursday evening.

One reader wrote on our Facebook page that he saw the bobcat on Transylvania Road in Woodbury a few days ago, while another spotted it near Bunker Hill yesterday.

The state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection reports that the Connecticut bobcat population is relatively limited, with the highest concentration in the northwestern part of the state.

Leary lives in the home with his wife, Ann, their children and dogs, as well as a couple of horses, according to an article by The New York Times.
