A Time for Hope and Healing: Substance Abuse Prevention Walk Scheduled

The second annual Walk for Substance Abuse Prevention, Recovery and Loss will take place on Friday, Sept. 23, at Hollow Park in Woodbury.

The second annual Walk for Substance Abuse Prevention, Recovery and Loss will take place from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, at Hollow Park on Hollow Road.

The rain date is Friday, Sept. 30.

The walk begins at Hollow Park, then extends to St. Teresa of Avila, then back to Hollow Park, where a candlelight service will occur. Participants are asked to bring flashlights.

The walk is sponsored by the Woodbury-Bethlehem Parent Connection. Additional information can be obtained by calling 203-266-0487.

The Woodbury-Bethlehem Parent Connection is a confidential venue for parents or caregivers who are concerned about their child’s suspected or confirmed drug or alcohol use or abuse.

The goal of the group is to education, learn how to receive strength and support for one's self when dealing with addiction, according to a press release from the Woodbury-Bethlehem Parent Connection.

Meetings open with a pledge of confidentiality and take place from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Mondays at the North Congregational Church on Main Street, at the corner of Routes 6 and 47, in Woodbury.

All surrounding town are welcome.
