WOODBURY'S BROWN TUFTS MONTESSORI SCHOOL SIGNS ON AS SPONSOR FOR WOODBURY EARTH DAY

Brown Tufts Montessori (http://www.browntuftsmontessori.com), a preschool and kindergarten has agreed to be a sponsor of Woodbury Earth Day, which will take place on April 26th at Woodbury Middle School. They will sponsor the Audubon Sharon's live 'Birds of Prey' program. This programs teaches about bird biology, conservation, ecology and adaptations for survival.

Nana Sledzieski, Head of School, says this is a perfect fit for the Montessori school, which is located on Middle Quarter Road in Woodbury.  "We love nature and we teach our students about caring for the earth, and caring for each other," she says. "We teach global mindedness, kindness and courtesy, recycling, and we just feel this is a philosophical match for us. Plus we know Earth Day is just a fun day overall and we're so happy to support it."

In addition to sponsoring 'Birds of Prey', Brown Tufts will also be collecting various wish list items for A Place Called Hope, which is a Connecticut based raptor rescue, rehabilitation and education center.  The wish list includes items like cracked corn and fresh eggs, wee wee pads, tarps and laundry detergent. A full list can be found in the News section of the Woodbury Earth Day website http://www.woodburyearthday.org, as well as on A Place Called Hope's website http://www.aplacecalledhoperaptors.com.

Brown Tufts' mixed-aged classroom is for children ages 3, 4 and 5, and can accommodate up to 30 students.  While Sledzieski says the school will be  reaching their 5th-year milestone this August, she finds most often parents are surprised to learn that there is a Montessori school so close by.  Sponsoring a children's activity at Earth Day she says provides them the opportunity to reach out to many new families.

Additional sponsorships are still available and those interested may contact Tracey Blackman at 203-915-3874 or tracey@traceyblackman.com.
