Waterbury UNICO sponsors Italian Heritage Bus Trip to NYC

The Waterbury Chapter of UNICO National is sponsoring an Italian Heritage bus trip to New York City on Saturday, September 14, 2013. 

The schedule of activities includes the following:

(1)   Ferry Ride to Statue of Liberty

(2)  87th Annual Feast of San Gennaro w/Dion DiMucci as the Grand Marshal for the parade in Little Italy

(3)  Tour of the Italian-American Museum

(4)   Optional visit to the catacombs at the Old St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

The cost per person is $60.00 and includes transportation, ferry ride and museum admission.  Lunch is on your own.  The bus will depart promptly at 6:00am from the Commuter Lot on Chase Parkway in Waterbury and will leave NYC at approximately 5:30pm and return to the same lot in Waterbury.  Seating is limited; reserve your spot today by calling 203.560.9015 or emailing WaterburyUnico@yahoo.com.  Checks should be made payable to Waterbury UNICO.

UNICO was founded in 1922 in Waterbury, CT by a group of professional Italian-Americans who were denied membership into a local service organization. They created UNICO to raise promote and preserve the Italian-American culture while doing charitable works in their community. The motto of UNICO is "Service Above Self".  Since then, UNICO has developed into the largest Italian-American Service Organization in the United States of America. Currently, there are 5,792 members in 131 chapters in 16 states.
