On Saturday, June 7, The Watermark at East Hill will host a reception to open its June art exhibit “Perspectives: Then and Now,” by Roxbury artists Florence and John Maloney. The event will be held at 3:00 p.m. at the senior living community, located at 611 East Hill Road in Southbury.

The collection contains a variety of colorful pieces done in acrylic and watercolor paints, as well as pencil and ink drawings. Originally from Norwalk, the Maloney’s now reside in Roxbury and credit their inspiration with nature, humor and their loving children and grandchildren. The couple has participated in art classes offered to the public at The Watermark, and have studied with many of The Watermark’s resident artists.

“Florence and John have put together a fantastic collection for this month’s exhibition,” said Michelle Bettigole, Executive Director at The Watermark at East Hill. “Their fun-spirited nature shines through on canvas and in person, and we look forward to celebrating their artwork with our residents and guests.”

The public is invited to view this exhibit on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 -5 p.m. until June 30. It is free of charge. For more information, please contact The Watermark at East Hill at 203-262-6868.
