Wow! What an incredible event we had! Fred Astaire Dance Studios Of New England hosted a spectacular silent auction, raising over $100K for Friends of The Fisher House Connecticut with more donations pouring in. More money was raised for this worthy cause through our “Dancing With Our Heroes” ballroom and latin dance style competition, in which our Military Heroes were each partnered with a professional dance instructor. We would like to thank all the generous people who opened their hearts and made donations to support this cause. Attendees cast their votes for the hero of their choice, to help them win the the “People’s Favorite” Award. Each vote cost $1 with no limit to how many votes each person could cast.The money raised will continue to help the lives of our military heroes - giving them what they need, a Fisher House in West Haven, Connecticut. Our participating heroes are an inspiration to all of us and we were so happy to have them be part of this wonderful event. Our thanks also go to everyone who helped make this event such a great success, most especially to our heroes who gave their time, perseverance and commitment to help us achieve this incredible contribution.
