Troop 480 Hikes to Mt. Frissell

Troop 480, a Boy Scout Troop chartered by St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Woodbury, recently went on a weekend camping trip to Mt. Frissell.  The scouts hiked carrying their backpacks containing their overnight supplies - such as tents, food, and water. Mt Frissell is the highest peak in CT at 2,453 feet. It is the spot where CT, NY and MA meet.  Troop 480 meets Thursday evenings in the lower parish hall of St. Paul’s Church.  In addition, Troop 480 plans one-day trip and one overnight camping trip per month. Boy scouting, one of the membership divisions of the BSA, is available to boys who have earned the Arrow of Light Award or have completed the fifth grade, or who are 11 through 17 years old. The program achieves the BSA's objectives of developing character, citizenship, and personal fitness qualities among youth by focusing on a vigorous program of outdoor activities.

Any boy interested in joining Troop 480 is welcome to visit a meeting.  The first meeting of the year is September 6, 2012.
