It's official -- New Morning Market will be opening at their new location at 8 a.m. Monday, May 7.
New Morning Market will move two miles north to the newly constructed, earth-friendly facility, at 129 Main Street. The current location at 738 Main Street will close for the last time at 5 p.m. on Sunday, May 6.
The new location will feature expanded departments, a coffee and juice bar, a larger and more comfortable café space, Kombucha on tap, a community room for classes, demonstrations and community use and more. A ribbon cutting and grand opening ceremony is planned for late May.
A move that has been more than six years in the making is finally going to become a reality and owner John Pittari could not be prouder.
"New Morning has had an incredible journey starting in Hotchkissville in 1971 and soon to arrive in North Woodbury" Pittari said. "I am humbled by the support the community has given us over the past 40 years, especially during times of transition".
New Morning has continued to grow and thrive, even when the economy has seen challenging times.
"Our mission is to support local and sustainable lifestyles that foster growth within the local economy," said Pittari. "When times are tough, this concept is even more important. Our customers realize this."
Many customers have expressed interest in helping New Morning Market move to their new home.
Pat Rector, New Morning Market's General Manager said the best way to lend a hand is to shop the week of May 1, and especially the weekend of the 5th. Special sales will be offered and the less inventory the store has, the less employees have to move, Rector said.
This is the store's fourth move in 40 years, and according to Pittari, they own the property and the building at 129 Main Street North, and plan to stay there for quite some time.
