In Honor of National Food Day, October 24th, New Morning Market Is Stuffing a Vintage VW Bus With Non Perishable Food Items for Connecticut Food Bank

New Morning Marketing in Woodbury, CT is now accepting donations of non-perishable food items, in an effort to stuff a vintage VW bus to the gills for the Connecticut Food Bank.  They plan to finish collecting and deliver the goods on Food Day, October 24th. Food Day is a nationwide celebration and a movement for healthy, affordable and sustainable food.

Items most needed by the food bank are; 100% Fruit Juice (cans/bottles/boxes); Canned vegetables & fruit; Chunky soups & beef stew; Gluten-free products; Macaroni & cheese; Peanut butter; Powdered milk; Rice / dry & canned beans; Spaghetti & sauce; “Sugar free,” “low sodium,” & “no salt” items; Tuna & other canned meat.  Cash and check donations will also be accepted.

Donations may be brought to the store anytime they are open.

The bus will depart at 5:00 P.M. on Wednesday, October 24th, and everyone is invited to come for the send off.

"We are excited to celebrate Food Day, as it is perfectly in line with New Morning's mission, and offering donations to the food bank helps struggling households, too" says owner John Pittari.
