Ase-AmenRa Kariamu, a skilled West African drummaker and gourd artist will be display his artistry at the Woodbury Public Library. Using authentic materials, Mr. Kariamu creates objects that are not only functional, but also beautiful to look at. A selection of Mr. Kariamu’s gourds and small drums will be on display in the Library Gallery Display Case during the month of June at the Woodbury Public Library.
Ase-AmenRa Kariamu is an accomplished drummer who has studied with a variety of international drummers, and teaches drumming as a healing therapy within Connecticut’s Juvenile Detention Facilities. Mr. Kariamu will be drumming at the exhibit opening on Saturday, June 2 at 2:00 at the Woodbury Public Library, 269 Main Street South, Woodbury. All are welcome.
